March 20th;
Free event is hosted by Boston Natural Areas Network
BOSTON, MA, March 3, 2010 – For a milestone 35 years the Gardeners’
Gathering has provided an annual forum for fellow gardeners to shrug
off the winter chill and celebrate urban gardening here in Boston.
The 35th Annual Gardeners’ Gathering offered by Boston Natural Areas
Network will take place on Saturday, March 20, 11:00 A.M. to 5:00
P.M. at the Curry Student Center (Third Floor), Northeastern
University, Boston. This exciting free event attracts hundreds of
community and residential gardeners and celebrates the successes of
gardeners in the City of Boston.
As the city’s largest educational forum for community and
residential gardeners, the Gardeners’ Gathering
is an opportunity for people to share ideas and tips, network and
learn. The Gardeners’ Gathering offers
workshops for both vegetable and ornamental gardeners with an
emphasis on safe practices for urban
gardens. Subjects include Garden Organizing, Worm Bin Composting,
the Asian Longhorned Beetle, School Gardens and Seed Starting. The
event will also host the 8th Annual Community Garden Awards. With
the help of Mayor Thomas M. Menino, individuals, garden groups and

Rookie Garden of the Year and Most Valuable Gardener awards.
Additionally, awards for Outstanding Service to Boston Gardens will
be presented to two deserving
individuals. For a complete menu of activities and workshop topics,
