East Boston Chamber of Commerce
Seeks Executive Director
Capable of working normal office hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday through
Friday.
Capable of efficient travel throughout the neighborhood (e.g.
personal vehicle) on a daily basis.
Able and willing to attend meetings and events before (e.g.
7:30-8am) and after (e.g. 5-8pm) normal office hours as needed,
estimated at 8 to 12 hours per month, depending on the particular
month’s needs. (This includes monthly Board meeting, committee
meetings, and community and Chamber events.)
Must be confident and very capable with Microsoft Office (Word,
Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook), with a preference for
experience with Quickbooks as well.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, customer
service, mathematical, and organization skills.
Must be able to use hand-operated stamp/seal (upwards of 250
repetitions per day) and occasionally lift/move
boxes or other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Preference lent to following candidates: Bilingual
(English/Spanish); College Graduates (relevant experience may
substitute for education level); familiarity with, residency in East
Boston community.
References must be provided and will be checked.
The Executive Director will also assume the following roles and
responsibilities:
MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & RETENTION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT
COMMUNITY RELATIONS & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAMMING & FUNDRAISING
CORRESPONDENCE & PUBLICITY
GENERAL OFFICE MANAGEMENT & SUPPORT
And other duties/assignments as assigned
Annual salary at $30,000.00 to start, with reviews at 6 months
and 1 year.
Performance incentives and partial health insurance coverage also
provided.
