The next Eagle Hill Civic Association meeting will be held this
Wednesday, November 18th at 7PM at the High School. We have two
important items on the agenda:
1.) 7:00 - 7:15 - We need all members to attend because we have been
asked to vote as a group on whether to support or oppose Sava's
Market's application with the Division of Banks to operate a
check cashing business at their location on Bennington St. At a
June meeting, Sava's promised to keep the sidewalks in front of
their business clean at all times as this has been a problem in the
past. We need to hear from members as to whether Sava's has been
keeping the streets clean as per their promise and also whether
members would like to see a check cashing business in the
neighborhood.
2.) 7:15 - 8:30 - We will have a presentation from the head of the
Neighborhood Crime Watch program from the Boston Police Department.
They will explain many ways in which residents can help deter crime
on their block and also how residents can organize crime watch
groups and receive support from the police department.
Our December 17th meeting will be a holiday potluck dinner and
neighborhood social. We will also have a holiday decorating
contest and the winners will be announced at the December meeting.
A flyer for both events is attached to this email message.
