Foundation presents honor medals for excellent service to community
Jack Williams, Wendy Zinn, Josue Cabrera, Winthrop Girl Scouts
honored
EAST BOSTON – The Bay State Chapter of Freedoms Foundation presented
Honor Medals for community
service work to three individuals and a Winthrop youth organization
during the chapter’s 30th Annual
Awards Banquet held recently at Spinelli’s Banquet Facility in East
Boston.
Prestigious George Washington Honor Medals were presented to Jack
Williams of WBZ-TV Channel 4 in
Boston, Wendy Zinn of the Greater Boston YMCA, East Boston High
School student Josue Cabrera, and
Girl Scout Troup 454 of Winthrop.

Jack Williams was honored for his “Wednesday’s Child” weekly feature
that helps find permanent homes
for Special Needs children and raises funds for Special Needs
adoptions.
Wendy Zinn was honored for her work to establish and build
successful YMCA programs that serve thousands of children and
families in East Boston, Chinatown and Boston.
Josue Cabrera is a member of the East Boston High School Junior ROTC
program, and he was honored as
the Youth Essay Award winner for his essay “My Goals.”
Winthrop Junior Girl Scout Troop 454 and its leader, Kelly Nichols
were honored for their service to
community, including helping to prepare care packages for members of
the military serving overseas.
The Bay State Chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge seeks
to educate and inspire awareness of
the principles upon which America was founded and the
responsibilities of citizens in a free society.
