East Boston shines with pride at neighborhood clean-up

On Saturday April 24, 2010 over 200 volunteers spent the day cleaning and beautifying the neighborhood. Residents from Princeton Street cleaned up the library property on Meridian Street while volunteers from The Eagle Hill Civic Association cleaned up around Eagle Hill and East Boston High School.

The Jeffries Point neighborhood Association joined their neighbors to cleanup Brophy Park and the streets around Jeffries Point. From Belle Isle Marsh to Maverick Square neighbors joined to take pride in East Boston.

A large group of college students and church members joined East Boston Main Street volunteers to mulch the tree pits along Meridian Street. East Boston Main Streets would like to thank all the volunteers who participated in this year’s kickoff to Boston Shines and invites the neighborhood to continue the cleanup effort all year long.

For more information about organizing a cleanup on your block contact East Boston Main Streets at 617.561.1044 or ebmainstreets@verizon.net
