Boston Main Streets awards local business and volunteer

East Boston, MA, 20-May-2010 — On May 19, 2010 Boston Main Streets held their annual awards ceremony. Hosted by the Wentworth Institute of Technology Mayor Thomas M. Menino presented certificates of appreciation to businesses and volunteers from the nineteen Main Street districts.

East Boston Main Streets was proud to nominate Dino Manca as the 2009 Volunteer of the Year. Dino is an active board member and has helped in the success of the annual Taste of Eastie food event and the Annual Countdown to Kindergarten Parade. Dino lends his time to many other organizations in East Boston. We are grateful to have volunteers like Dino who make our neighborhood a great place.

The 2009 Business of the Year award was presented to Hong Kong Harbor Chinese Restaurant. Quyn Duong and her family invested a significant amount of money and time in renovating their storefront. East Boston Main Streets design committee and the City of Boston’s Restore program played an integral part in revitalizing the façade. Located at 5 Maverick Square, Hong Kong Harbor Chinese Restaurant is open daily. Dine in or take out, Hong Kong Harbor also delivers 7 days a week. For great Chinese food call 617.569.3855
