East Boston Main Streets (EBMS)
announces 9th annual Countdown to Kindergarten Parade
On Friday, September 11, 2009, East Boston
Main Streets will hold its 9th Annual Countdown to Kindergarten
Parade.
EastBoston, Ma.10-August-2008 East Boston Main Streets along with
the Boston Public Schools Countdown to Kindergarten staff, Boston
Main Streets, the East Boston Social Center, YMCA, Little Folks and
Head Start programs, Boston Police and MBTA will host the 9th Annual
Countdown to Kindergarten parade.
With the help of many groups and individuals and the
generosity of local merchants every child in East Boston who is
entering Kindergarten will receive school supplies and will enjoy a
festive day designed to provide a positive experience as they begin
their education.
Beginning in Central Square at 10:45 AM Parade marshals who are the
caretakers from the children’s preschools will march with children
and their parents along Meridian Street to receive school supplies.
Upon returning DJ John Dudley will play music and food will be
supplied along with face painting and special programs from Read
Boston and the Suffolk County Sheriffs Department.
