This weeks meeting is a JOINT MEETING with Chelsea Rotary to be
held Tuesday February 23 at 12:00pm at the Wyndham Hotel at 201
Everett Avenue in Chelsea.
This is a joint meeting with Chelsea as we join them in celebration
and for a brief presentation on the hospital that Chelsea Rotarian
Juan G. has spearheaded with the help of many Rotarians. This is a
great undertaking and should be most interesting, let's please have
a great showing for their accomplishment, they are a great group and
fun to meet up with.
On a sad note, our beloved Treasurer Roger M. has informed us that
he is retiring from his job in within the next year and that he will
not be in our vicinity for Rotary so he will be stepping down from
our club, Roger will team up with the Rotarians in Brookline (a
promotion in Roger's mind for sure!) but we will miss him so very
much, we have been so lucky to have Roger in our club. George M.
will be stepping up as our new Treasurer as he and Roger work out
the arrangements.
Also, the Red Cross will be having another blood drive at the
Comfort Inn in Revere from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday April 29,
EB/Revere Rotary was present at the last blood drive and we had a
great time meeting folks in the community, the Red Cross sure
appreciated our presence and the fact that you can give blood and
get a margarita in the next room doesn't hurt so put that down on
your calendars
Also, we have our annual Rotary Trivia Nite coming up on May 5 at
the Comfort Inn, this is always a blast, Billy Z. and his lovely
bride are writing down the questions, Margarita's is polishing up
the blender so let's get our teams ready and some prizes for our
raffles, please be prepared in the next few weeks to present some
teams and prize ideas.
Speaking of prizes, Anthony G. is a real prize, he wants EB/Revere
Rotary to sponsor a table at the next Fetish Convention to be held
in downtown Lynnfield on March 15, I don't know about this one
folks, give your opinions to Anthony G., he is really gung ho about
this stuff.
Fred S. is recuperating and getting better, he damaged his right
shoulder on Superbowl Sunday when he was showing his son how he
actually taught Pete Townsend to swing his arm around and play his
guitar, either that or he was giving Charlie Baker lessons on air
guitar, I forgot how Fred S. actually hurt his shoulder but I just
make this up as I go along anyway -either way it was good to see
Fred S. up and around and feeling better - Fred really I'm serious,
your right hand will not get jealous of the left - relax as Frankie
liked to say.
Don't forget first Wednesday of the month March 3rd Breakfast
Meeting at Revere High School, more details to follow
