Heritage Month Committee to plan
this year's events.
Designs created and
implemented by Constantino
Brumidi (1805-1880), "The
Michelangelo of the US
Capitol."
JUNE 20,
2000 - As you are aware, after an
intense effort of the Italian
Community throughout the State
spearheaded by members of the
state legislature, a bill to have
October established as Italian
Heritage Month was passed and
signed into law by Governor Argeo
Paul Cellucci in early October
1999.
Now the
bill is law, now and in the
future, we need every Italian
American individual or organized
group to plan and particulate in
varied cultural events throughout
the month of October 2000. Your
participation as a proud Italo
and community leader is critical
for the success of this planning.
You are encouraged to include
family, friends, and organization
members to become involved.
A planning
committee is being formed to
establish subcommittees in all
areas of cultural interest. A
special invitation is extended to
you and yours to be a member.
