Last weekend was the Mayor's Cup Soccer, at the
Millenium Park in West Roxbury. East Boston participated for the
first time with four teams: FC Alianza and Tiburones FC on the boys
13 and under, and Eastie FC and AC Milan on the boys 10 and under.
Two of the teams, Tiburones and Eastie are sponsored by NOAH. NOAH
has been working with the city program Boston ROCKS, and every
summer, they organize community soccer at the American Legion
Playground (City Yards). Now that the Boston Parks Department has
plans to re-develop the City Yards, including a soccer field, there
are parents who want to work together to start organizing a soccer
league based at the American Legion Playground.
Going back to the Mayor's Cup, FC Alianza (from East Boston) was the
Champion on the boys 13 and under, and AC Milan (from East Boston)
was in Second Place on the boys 10 and under. Congratulations to FC
Alianza and AC Milan, and to all teams from East Boston
participating in the Mayor's Cup. |
