Approximately 85 former volunteers of the East Boston Community News gathered last Saturday night at Zumix to commemorate the founding of the paper 40 years ago. The paper published from 1970-1989 and was a pioneer in local journalism launching the careers of reporters across the nation. Former photographer and board member Joanne Ciccarrello recalls her days at the legendary newspaper.

The bridge will be open for nighttime traffic on all days. Any changes in this schedule due to inclement weather, etc. will be posted on the many variable message signs in the vicinity of the bridge. The closures are required for work to be performed on the upper levels of the vertical support towers.
