Mayoral Candidate Marty Walsh announces additional "Monday's with Marty" events: Eastie on August 26.

Series of Neighborhood-based Town Hall Meetings to be held on Mondays though the Summer

The Marty Walsh for Mayor campaign continues to fan out across the City this summer, staging a series of open Town Hall Meetings with residents. These events, designed to be an opportunity for the candidate to listen to voters about their concerns, are organized around neighborhoods, and are free and open to the public. All events take place 8 – 9 p.m. Each Town Hall will be moderated by Erin O’Brien, a professor in the Public Policy Department at UMass Boston.

Mondays with Marty has already visited Dorchester, Back Bay, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale and West Roxbury. Upcoming events are listed below.

August 12, Charlestown Town Hall Meeting, Bunker Hill Post 26 American Legion, 26 Adams St.

August 26 East Boston Town Hall Meeting, East Boston Yacht Club, 0 Rice St.

September 9 Roxbury Town Hall Meeting, Haley House, 12 Dade St.

(We’re skipping August 19 for a Main Streets forum, and September 2 because it is Labor Day.)

Said Rep. Walsh, “These events have been a great learning experience for me. I am enjoying the back-and-forth, and gaining a deeper understanding of the unique set of issues each neighborhood faces, in addition to the concerns all Bostonians share. I have prided myself on always being accessible, and I will continue to be accessible. I will commit that if elected, “Mondays with Marty” will continue in some form.”

The original dispatch included the wrong date. The correct date is Monday, August 26.
