FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Take the "Art Ferry" to the first East Boston Open Studios Getting to East Boston has never been easier. On Saturday October 13 and Sunday October 14, you can catch the free "Art Ferry" water taxi, at Christopher Columbus Park in the North End (next to the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel). From noon to 6pm, the art ferry will shuttle visitors across the harbor to the Boston Harbor Marina in East Boston for the first East Boston Open Studios. At the marina, a free "Art Bus" will pick up passengers every 30 minutes and make stops throughout the neighborhood at various art studio locations. The "Art Ferry" is sponsored by Cassin/Winn in conjunction with the East Boston Artists Group, the organizers of the Open Studios event. East Boston Open Studios will be held from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. The starting point for T riders is Tonys Realty located at 37 Maverick Square, just outside the Maverick T stop on the Blue Line. Maps of all the studios and information about the participating artists will be available there. Nearly forty artists will participate, representing the Central Square, Eagle Hill, Jeffries Point and Maverick Square neighborhoods. Visitors are invited to tour the artists buildings and studios, see them at work and learn about art. Original artwork will be available in all price ranges; choose from sculpture, handmade books, figurative and abstract painting, jewelry, drawings, photography, and much more. This event is funded in part through a generous grant from The East Boston Foundation.
