EAST BOSTON – The Kiwanis Club of East Boston will host two officials from Suffolk Downs to talk about the proposed resort casino plans at the Kiwanis Club’s meeting on Tuesday, June 19 at 6 p.m. in Spinelli’s function facility in Day Square.

Suffolk Downs Chief Operating Officer Chip Tuttle and Suffolk Downs Executive Vice President for Security and Compliance Paul Evans will be the guest speakers when the Kiwanis Club hosts its interclub meeting of fellow clubs from Kiwanis Division 14.

COO Tuttle and Evans, the former Boston Police commissioner, will discuss the casino plan unveiled at Suffolk Downs last week and what steps must be taken before a casino can be constructed at the East Boston racetrack site.

The public is invited to attend the dinner meeting to hear about the casino plans.

Tickets are $20 per person and include a 50/50 raffle. Tickets must be reserved by 1 p.m. on Monday, June 18 by contacting Kiwanis Club officers Ed Coletta at 617-797-2683, Marisa DiPietro at 617-650-3442 or Clark Moulaison at 617-561-1044.

The Kiwanis Club is an organization of volunteers who perform community service and raise donations that assist East Boston children, senior citizens and those in need. Kiwanis Division 14 includes clubs from East Boston, Revere, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Somerville and Stoneham.
