East Boston Kiwanis Club to Celebrate 25 years of Women in Kiwanis on September 18 in Spinelli's

The Kiwanis Club of East Boston will celebrate “25 Years of Women in Kiwanis” with a special celebration to be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 6 p.m. in Spinelli’s Function Hall, Day Square in East Boston. The public is invited to attend the celebration.

Kiwanis International first voted to include women in the organization’s membership in 1987, and that year, the East Boston Kiwanis Club inducted four women into the club. Two of those members, Maria DiLibero and Sandra Caggiano, remain members of the club and will be honored during the special celebration for their active participation and community service.

The Kiwanis Club will also honor club members with the Legion of Honor award, this year marking 25 years of service by three club members and 35 years of service by one club member. During the ceremony, the club will also swear-in its club officers and new board of directors for the 2012-13 club year, which begins on October 1.

Tickets to this special celebration are $20, which includes dinner and a 50/50 raffle. To attend the “Women in Kiwanis” event, contact club President Ed Coletta at 617-797-2683 or club President-elect Clark Moulaison at 617-699-7121. The deadline to get tickets is Friday, September 14, 2012 at 4 p.m.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. For more information about the East Boston Kiwanis Club, check out our page on Facebook.
