Healthy Main Streets walk a great fit for all
]

On Thursday July 16, 2009 East Boston Main Streets sponsored a healthy fitness walk

East Boston, MA. July 20, 2009, On July 16, 2009; with help from the East Boston YMCA and local businesses, over 40 people participated in a Healthy Main Streets fitness walk. Youngsters and more experienced walkers were treated to fresh fruit from La Esquina Super Market, delicious samples of seafood from Off the boat seafood and healthy salad alternatives from Sonny Noto’s restaurant. Al’s Shoe Store offered participants 50% off athletic footwear. The participants began the walk with some stretching exercises from Michael Streeby who is a fitness instructor with The YMCA. After visiting local businesses the group finished up with a visit to the farmers market in Central Square. The farmers market is held on Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm from July to October and is sponsored by the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.
