East Boston Chamber of Commerce Launches East Boston Small Business Summit

(BOSTON, June 20, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The East Boston Chamber of Commerce announced today the launch of its first-annual East Boston Small Business Summit - an initiative designed to help connect East Boston's small businesses with opportunities, information and resources to help them grow and prosper. The first event, which will serve as an introduction to the program, will take place Tuesday June 24th, 6pm-8pm, at the Courtyard Marriott Boston
Logan Airport. The evening will begin with an hour of cocktails and networking, followed by an hour of short presentations by a panel of selected speakers, then
a short Q&A session.

This event is free and open to the public.

Panelists include:
Scott Heigelmann - President, East Boston Chamber of Commerce
Attorney Diane J. Modica - Fmr. Boston City Councilor, Head of Mayor's Office of Consumer Affairs and Licensing
Betsy Cowan - Neighborhood Business Manager, City of Boston
Rep. Carlo Basile - MA State Representative
Max Gruner - Executive Director, East Boston Main Streets
Josefina Silva - Vice President, Loan Officer, East Boston Savings Bank
Kate Haggerty - Manager, ICIC, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program

Guests will learn about several new inner-city small business programs and will gain access to resources and information about a variety of topics including:

On-site business assistance
Energy efficiency
Licensing and permitting assistance
Business and management education
Mentoring and networking
Access to capital
Internships and the Youth@Work program
