Mayor Menino Asks Residents to Recycle Christmas Trees, Catalogs and Wrapping Paper

(BOSTON, Jan 3, 2012) Boston residents must dispose of their Christmas trees on their recycling day between January 2nd and 13th. The Public Works Department will collect and compost the trees.

Please remove ornaments, decorations, and stands from Christmas trees.  Do not put trees in plastic bags.  Place trees at the curb by 7:00am on recycling collection day.  Christmas trees will be collected during these two weeks only.

Residents are also reminded to recycle their holiday catalogs and wrapping paper.

For further information, please call the Mayor’s 24-hour hotline at (617) 635-4500 or online at www.cityofboston.gov/recycle.
